Your next exciting opportunity –

To continue our success our team in Perth are looking to fill the position of Water Quality Modelling Consultant. Responsible for professionally and efficiently undertaking varied engineering/scientific assignments requiring general familiarity with a broad field of engineering/science and have knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other fields. This role contributes to the maintenance and growth of BMT’s consultancy capacity.

Responsibilities & Tasks

• Undertake professional technical tasks of varied scope and complexity exercising individual judgement and initiative.
• Operate within practices and procedures covered by precedents or well-defined policies. Incumbents choose between a range of substantially diversified procedures and specialised standards. Can prioritise own work. Applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks as part of a broader assignment.
• Evaluate, selects, and applies standard techniques, principles, procedures, and criteria to perform technical tasks and address differing variable situations. Delivers solutions where precedent may not exist.
• Acquire training and broadens experience to become qualified for more senior responsibilities. Work towards gaining and maintaining Chartered or Certified Status.
• Adhere to quality, safety, and environmental procedures/standards.
• Liaise with customers for the purposes of service delivery.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of relevant software, systems, and processes.

You will have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in marine science, engineering, or mathematics
• Elementary working knowledge of 3D integrated hydro ecosystem models.
• Analytical skills including scripting language (e.g., MATLAB/Python/R)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task across numerous projects
• Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Fortran, C, C++)
• Previous experience modelling aquaculture environments
